How Do I Increase My Tripadvisor Score?

A hotelier just reached out to me this morning asking how they can go about increasing their tripadvisor score and I shared the following strategy with him. I thought it could be a benefit to others too, so I wanted to share it here. Thanks for reading and sharing! Feel free to reach out if you’d like help implementing a strategy like this. “I’ll assume this is for a hotel. It would look like this: develop a system to have satisfied guests leave positive scores. Probably print up business cards (I think Tripadvisor actually sells these cards) that says something like ‘Thanks for staying with us. If you would be kind enough to take 60 seconds to leave us a review, it would be a big help to us.’ Then train your front desk staff that when a guest is checking out and mentions that they had a great stay, hand them one of these cards.

The best way to invite people to leave reviews is with a follow up email and link after checkout. This makes it easier for the guest, and you can send them a link to google reviews or tripadvisor or any other site where you want to increase your score. You’ll have to make sure you’re giving all of your guests a great experience though. If you don’t have great staff, then I would just ask those who mention that they had a great time to leave reviews, but that will take longer to get your score up.

If all of this sounds overwhelming visit a company like https://www.triptease.com/ that has technology that can help manage your online reputation. Your PMS (Property Management System) probably already has an automatic checkout email feature that you can turn on if you aren’t using it already. If you’d like to talk about this over a phone call just let me know and we’ll see if we can schedule a time. Good luck!”
